4. Quality Inspection and Evaluation of Steel Structures

During the manufacturing of steel structures, there are the following shortcomings: dimensional deviation, nonlinearity of components, low quality of structural welding, jointing, and riveting, and poor quality of primers and coatings. Due to the existence of these defects and their mutual influence, both the overall and local parts of the structure will be subject to varying degrees of damage.

5. Detection of defects and dents in steel structures

Ultrasonic and electromagnetic methods are commonly used in the detection of defects and dents in steel structures. When inspecting steel structures, checking the material of the steel structure is an important aspect. A good method is to take samples from non main stress areas of the structure for testing, in order to determine the corresponding strength indicators.
