Precautions for storing H-shaped steel:

We need to pay attention to avoiding impurities and rain before storing the H-shaped steel. For those who have been soiled or soaked in rain, we need to wipe them clean according to different methods. For example, if the hardness is low, items such as cotton or cloth can be used to wipe it. If the hardness is high, steel wire can be used to brush it.

After entering the warehouse, we also need to check regularly to see if there is any rusting phenomenon. We need to remove the rust on the surface of the H-shaped steel and do not need to apply oil. However, for good steel, thin-walled pipes, alloy steel pipes, and alloy thin steel plates, after rust removal, their internal and external surfaces need to be coated with anti rust oil before storage. For steel with severe rust, it is not advisable to store it for a long time after rust removal, so it needs to be used as soon as possible.

What are the precautions for using H-shaped steel

When using flame cutting for H-shaped steel, the web should be cut first before cutting the flange part (based on the principle of thin first and thick later) to prevent stress from causing cracking. Before cutting, the cutting area should be preheated with a cutting flame (preheating temperature ≥ 200 ℃)

2. When cutting and welding H-beams and similar products, assign personnel with welding qualifications for building steel structures to operate in accordance with the corresponding specifications and standards for building steel structures

3. Arc transition treatment should be applied to the cutting edges and corners, with a radius of no less than 25mm. After cutting, a welding hammer should be used to lightly tap the cutting area for stress treatment.
