H-beam steel is a type of steel used in the construction of beams or columns in civil engineering. H-beam steel has the advantages of strong bending resistance, simple construction, cost saving, and light structural weight in all aspects, and has been commonly used. Below, we will introduce you to the rolling process of H-beam steel. The rolling process of H-beam steel, plate and strip steel, is very simple to understand, with the left and right rolling rolls being the simplest
H-shaped steel, as its name suggests, resembles the letter H. How are complex styles of steel rolled and produced? This requires a special rolling technique called pass rolling
How is the H-beam rolled into rough billet? The square billet is first rolled into a H-shaped billet with a two roll billet opener with a pass. The red section in the following figure is the cross section pattern of the square billet after it comes out from a relative pass position. The second and third holes from left to right are the same as the the first mock examination, and one of them is a spare hole during production
The use of general I-beam is suitable for HN type steel; I-shaped steel, whether general or lightweight, can only be directly used for components that are bent in the plane of their web or to form lattice load-bearing components due to the relatively high and narrow cross-sectional dimensions, resulting in a significant difference in the moment of inertia between the two main axes of the cross-section. It is not suitable to choose axial compression components or components with twists and turns perpendicular to the web plane, which greatly limits their application scale.
H-shaped steel belongs to the category of efficient and economical cutting profiles (including cold-formed thin-walled steel, profiled steel plates, etc.), because of their reasonable cross-sectional shape, they can enhance the efficiency of the steel and improve its load-bearing capacity. Unlike the general I-beam, the flange of the H-beam has been widened, and the inner and outer surfaces are generally parallel, making it easier to connect with other components using high-strength bolts. Its scale composition series is reasonable, with complete types, making it easy to plan and choose.
